Here’s some lesson that can be learned from movie “Ben Hur“.. Even childhood friends can become diametrically opposed due to different convictions or opinions. Our differences can lead to hostility and the result can be catastrophic if these issues are left unresolved.
One of the reasons why we need to be open with one another is so that we can resolve matters and move on. We are sinful beings and we are going to hurt one another. As disciples of Jesus hopefully never intentionally! But we will nonetheless.
If your brother sins against you,go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
~Matthew 18:15-16 (NIV)
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
~James 5:16 (NIV)
Jesus taught us to work things through and for some of us it may be a bigger challege than for others.
