This Christmas Eve, join Hope Worldwide Kuala Lumpur (KL) and New York Harlem Singers in a Christmas Eve charity concert.
New York Harlem Singers, established 12 years ago, is a soul group comprising eight members with powerful vocals.
They will be performing songs like Calling All Ancestors, Swing It, Dry Bones and Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho.
Hope Worldwide KL chairman Vincent Sim said the organisation aimed to raise RM1mil from the concert.
€œThe funds are to sustain our various programmes such as our reading programme using multimedia, school sponsorships, food for the poor, creative art programme, and to support the operation of our free health clinics in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
€œWe are also working towards setting up a building fund for our Centre of Hope, which will house all our ongoing activities.
€œIt will also be a centre for counselling and be used as a community centre, he said.
Also performing at the concert will be Aseana Percussion Unit, the KL Children`s Choir, tenor Tan Wei Han and soprano Irma Lailatul.
Hope Worldwide KL programme director Darick Wong said: €œThe New York Harlem Singers are an accomplished group of performers, their songs are inspirational and are derived from the very roots of American jazz and soul music €” it`s going to be a real treat.
The concert will be held at the Genting Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands on Dec 24 at 8.30pm.
