As we read in the Bible, the most-intimate relationship is marriage between a husband and a wife. Unfortunately, relationships today are under more cultural and interpersonal pressure and stress than ever before in our historyBut it doesn`t have to be that way. John and Karen Louis hold Master Degrees in Counselling
from Monash University of Melbourne, Australia. Both are
Professional Members of the American and the Australian
Counselling Associations, and are Registered Counsellors with
the Singapore Association for Counselling. John Louis is also a member of the International Society for Schema Therapy (ISST) and is a certified Schema Therapist, personally trained by Dr. Jeffrey Young, the Founder of Schema Therapy.
John and Karen have conducted numerous conferences, seminars and workshops on family, marriage and parenting, in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Ukraine.
Motivated by their passion to meet the needs of the €œemotionally needy, John and Karen Louis founded Movie TherapyTM in Singapore. Movie TherapyTM is a breakthrough therapy approach that uses movies as a counselling tool to help people work through their life issues with the help of a qualified counsellor. In 2005, Movie TherapyTM became the recipient of the Comcare Enterprise Fund launched by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and awarded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS).
As founders of Movie TherapyTM in Singapore, John and Karen often incorporate the use of Movie TherapyTM in the programmes they develop. In their latest Parenting programme known as “Good-Enough Parenting”, which comprises a series of eight parenting workshops based on Schema Therapy founded by Dr Jeffrey Young, scenes from as many as thirty movies are used to deliver various teaching points, making the Parenting programme unique, captivating and impacting.
They were recently featured in an interview by Mr Steven Chia and Ms Suzanne Jung of Channel NewsAsia in Primetime Morning.

John (a Malaysian) and Karen (an American) have been married for over 20 years now. They reside in Singapore with their two active teenagers, age 14 & 16.
